National Day of Truth & Reconciliation
Orange Shirt Day

As an ongoing conversation in our school, teachers will be discussing residential schools, Indigenous ways of knowing, and honouring Indigenous cultures, communities, and peoples, in an age-appropriate manner.  It is an important part in the reconciliation process and it is key to moving Canada forward.  Through education we are able to make a difference and bring about positive change and understanding.

On September 30th please encourage your child to wear an orange shirt in recognition of the struggles endured by Indigenous children during the tenure of residential schools and in solidarity with Indigenous people; however, we understand not everyone will be able to find or wear an orange shirt.  The school will also have orange ribbons that students can wear.
